Et tu Kodak?

Well, it happened, Kodak has finally retired it’s infamous kodachrome transparency film. I remember when I started using it 6 years ago in an attempt to get richer colors in my digital scans. What I got was a pain in my ass. The film is awesomely archival, but, alas, did not translate so well in the Nikon film scanner.

I also remember having to send it off to Kodak, since there were like only two places in the country that developed it, and waiting for a week to get it back. Technology comes and technology goes, it’s been happening since the birth of photography with the daguerreotype.

Good night sweet prince.
